MIDI out from Voltage Modular

Hi all,

Is it possible to get MIDI out from Voltage Modular into a DAW host?

So, for example, can I have VM as a DAW plugin and have a sequencer in VM generating CV that goes though a CV To MIDI module and then uses the MIDI Out module to get the MIDI into the DAW.

I've selected "Send To DAW" in the MIDI out module but my DAW (Studio One) does not see anything, even though it is set to use VM as a MIDI input.
I'm experienced with other VSTs that generate MIDI so I think that the Studio One end of things is configured correctly.

I've got it working in Logic, using the IAC Bus VM Sequencer on one track, outputting MIDI data to the IAC Bus, which returns it into the record-enabled instrument track. Not ideal because the track has to be in record mode, but it's workable.

Of course, if you have the Plugin Host or Mini Plugin Host, you can run a VST right there inside of the VM plugin. Should work fine in any DAW.

Second Test: Inserted Memorymode into Cakewalk. MIDI Data from VM played on the Memorymode as long as it (the Memorymode) was the target/destination. Recording not needed.

In Logic the target/destination is whichever track is armed. I don't think I can target specific tracks from different devices.

It just magically started working for me. Either that or I did something stupid on the first attempt, which is not unheard of.

Glad to hear you got it working! I enjoyed setting up the tests in my DAW and have mentally bookmarked some additional ideas for later usage combining some other interactivity between VM and my DAW I have been working on.
