Recording Audio from Voltage to Cubase

Post by syntulf »

Hi everybody. I am new to this forum and this is my first post.
I have made a drum machine in Voltage modular using the DMT drum bundle.
I would like to record the drum patterns in Cubase. How do I route the sound from Voltage to Cubase.
I open the Voltage as a VST in Cubase, but maybe that is the wrong way.
Please advice.

Hi Syntulf,

welcome to the forum!

If you trigger the drums from a MIDI part in Cubase, then simply select the MIDI part and in the Cubase menu go to Edit -> Render in place -> Render.

If the drums are triggered from inside Voltage Modular VSTi, then create a new group track and a new stereo audio track. Route the output of the VM VSTi track to the new group, route the output of the new group to "No Bus" and select the new group as the input of the new audio track. Then record-arm the new audio track, hit record in Cubase and then play your pattern in VM VSTi.

Best regards,
Martin
