If that's not enough for you then in the FX section something called Nimbus seems to actually be a port of Clouds.

I'm a big fan of Surge, although I'd never considered routing it through to VM at the more functional level. I do route audio through VM, but I haven't explored the Plug-in Host properly. The great thing about the Plug-in Host is the modular access it gives you to plugin parameters. Twelve CV inputs to virtually any plugin, VST2, VST3 or AU.SpaceDog wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 10:33 am

Clarification: It is possible to map CCs to Plug-in Controls if the VST has MIDI Learn and then to use the CV to MIDI module (connected to VM's plug-in host) to control more than 12 parameters, but this requires jumping around, more set up time, etc.
Ahhh, now this I have done. I've set up some interesting modulation sources within VM, mapped them to various CCs and fired them out to control an external (to VM) VST. I've also used various sequencers to control an external drum synth, which works well for my purposes.
This also interests me and I have a goal to explore it more. (Probably should be its own thread--something like "VM as a MIDI Processor Tool.") Recently, I have done a couple of small, basic MIDI processing tests to look for solutions to issues I have seen others write about in non-CA forums (i.e., issues with other manufacturers' VSTs).
