FM beast #2 : "Drunk Bonobos & Empty Bottles"

Continuing the "FM + gritty filter" series modular synthesizer noodling. This time Cherry Audio's FM Station + their nasty super real VCF-20 (I used to own a Korg MS20 and this filter is sooo close !) + MRB's Low Pass Gate (not showing the full potential here). And of course the indispensable two gu...

Re: FM "BEAST" (driven by Vari Step Seq )

Apologies for posting the same preset video for the third time (!) , but this one is much more groovy

Re: FM BEAST (driven by Vari Step Seq )

Thank Jack ! :) Heres is one more take of the same preset, with a better video quality. This is not a tune, just a quick preset demo jam, tweaking the filters and the FM operators' pitch. I actually got luckier in the previous one, but this one still has good moments and a better sound. Remote contr...

Re: Horsepower

Nice post. VM runs fine here with sometimes complex patches, even the cpu hungry PSP modules, on a Lenovo Thinkpad L540, i5 4300M CPU@ 2.60 GHz, 8GB memory, Windows 10 pro 64 bit. Cherry Audio made a fantastic job since the release of V2. Upon release it started very cpu hungry and after a few updat...

Re: FM Beasts

Love Efemerizer, love FM station even more ! :D

Video quality is mediocre, sorry.
I will upload a new one with better visibility.

FM + gritty filters in VM can sound like a BEAST.
I realize the title can mistakenly read "beat" but it's not a pun.
To my ears it really sounds as bestial as analog.

FM "BEAST" #1 (driven by Vari Step Seq )

FM "Beast" #1 : The first of a series of demos of FM "bestially" organic sounding presets that i want to make in Voltage Modular combining FM (PSP or Cherry Audio FM station mainly) and gritty filters (PSP, MS20, MRB LPG, Vult Tangents). FM can sound so organic and present in Cherry Audio's Voltage ...

Re: Confusing post: DCO-106 Polyphonic Synthesizer

Well, all in all, Cherry Audio's move is quite understandable, this seems like an awesome synth at a competitive price in a crowded market, and i really wish they will sell a lot. Like Wavemechanic just said it would have been better with a less boombastic announcement and in an other part of the fo...

Re: Flowing Air Lead sound

Very interesting !

I was surprised by the band pass part of the filter modulating the filter itself.

I'm a guitarist but it makes me wanna blow into some Roland Aerophone or similar. ^ ^

Thank you !

I agree that making VSTs it’s not the way to go. The product that gave Cherry Audio a name is Voltage Modular and.... ..... I think most of us are here because we want to be part of a worlwide ever expanding modular synth community.
Absolutely !

Re: how good is MRB Lab bundle? - answer very good!

Hey, thank you Silden ! ^ ^ I can't afford the Deluxe Filter bundle right now, but i sure got the Low Pass Gate bundle (included in the deluxe), which for me is a must because what primarily attracts me towards modular is the percussion side of it. And among the percussive organisms made with modula...
