How do I trigger a Sequencer from a MIDI Keyboard?

After copying 2 presets cable-by-cable, I'm only allowed to trigger a continuous sequence using the Sequencer's Start and Stop buttons.
I've tried this with presets: "Eight Steps" and "Old Seq." Wondering if its a DAW (Studio One) issue?
The example below is the "Old Seq" preset.

Have a look at the '90's Tech 1' preset (under 'sequences'). It uses a Boolean Logic module to do what you want.

Do you mean you want to kick off a repeating sequence that keeps going with an initial keypress?

Studio One control link won't let you do that?
