The latest version of Adroit Custom was released a few days ago and as promised the Duality demo patch is now available for download.
Duality is a polyphonic morphing synthesizer.
It supports two different scenes, one called A and another called B and you can morph between them using the mod wheel, an envelope generator, an LFO, a VFLO or channel aftertouch.
Morphing isn't the same as crossfading. Instead of just mixing between two different sounds there are 45 motorized knobs (color-coded green) that change setting depending on what value the morphing parameter has. This leads to novel forms of modulation and expression that aren't available on conventional synthesizers.
Please note that Duality is not a module, it's an Adroit Custom patch. As such its interface is constructed using 15 Custom Panel modules arranged horizontally and there are a few consequences of this. On the negative side it's a little more fragile and inefficient than a module would be. On the positive side you can relatively easily modify it to your own tastes.
You'll need a fairly beefy and well-tuned computer to run it without glitches but you can tailor the CPU load by adjusting the NUMBER OF VOICES setting on VM's I/O panel. Start off with 5 voices and adjust up or down to find out what your machine is capable of.
It requires build #124 of Custom Panel, Voltage Modular Core and several free modules kindly made available by Dome Music Technologies.
If you don't have Adroit Custom then you can still try out Duality for free as there is a 14 day trial period for the Adroit Custom bundle.
The download and comprehensive documentation are available at https://adroitsynthesis.com/duality-mor ... nthesizer/
It's advisable to at least skim the documentation before getting stuck in as athough most of the interface is self-explanatory there are a few elements that are unusual.
Allow maybe an hour of exploration to get a feel for things.
As usual please feel free to reach out for support.
Note that the .voltagepreset file is about 4 MB because it contains graphics data.
