Hey, first post. I've been debating getting some of these sweet Cherry products for years and finally took the plunge. I want to join the modular madness crowd, but the offerings for the Voltage Modular system are overwhelming. I have zero latency doubt that there are some real treasures to be had here for not much money, but I need some advice because I can't buy everything.
I'm doing prog rock and ambient experimental stuff, and will be starting with the Year Two Bundle to get the VM900 and 2500 modules. Are there any other oscillator and filter packs which will add something serious to the flavor pool? I won't need anything granular. And then, are there any sequencer / arp / clock trickery modules to add in for interesting self-playing textures? I won't be taking the plunge till the end of the month - unless a sale is ending soon I'm unaware of. I already spent hundreds on some Cherry and GForce synths, and DAW plugins. I really need to try and pace myself. Some.
Thanks for any and all advice.

Voltage. Modular Core is THE absolute 'must-have'. You'll find yourself getting frustrated without it, especially if you're building self-playing patches.
For everything else, it's very much a personal thing. Make sure to use the demo feature to see if a bundle / module works for you before parting with any cash.

Good morning SteveMiz !
If you have the VM900 shiffter and the VM2500 Resonator filter... What else?
Utdgrant will never tell you, but its bundles (dome tech.) are also “must haves”
I think you'll also need to control stuff with a button controller: either https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/control, or
https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/remote-control
Additionally, you can play graphically with the space controller https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/space-controller
To properly analyze what you are doing,
- a spectroscope https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/m ... ctro-scope
- a multi-oscilloscope that can display up to 3 min 26 s https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/m ... cilloscope
- a voltmeter https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/volt-meter
And a very large screen... or two !

if i were you i'd wait for christmas. i am sure there'll be sales for the holidays.
there's plenty of free modules btw. like my airwindows ports: https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/r ... airwindows the very versatile Partial Oscillator https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/p ... oscillator or the must have Control module https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/control
when you're just starting out though i'd recommend holding off buying modules for now. get familiar with modular and patching and VM. when you reach the point where you feel like sth is lacking you can still go get it. it's tempting to get all the modules at the beginning, but it'll likely be overwhelming. there's actually a lot that can be done with the basic and free modules already.
that being said, the Micro Modules Bundle is a very complete and expanding set of modules that'll get you very far. it contains lots and lots of sound sources, filters, sequencers, modulation, effects, and utilities. have a look: https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/m ... les-bundle
if you want more creative and far out modules, check out my other R_Ware modules

For oscillators, consider checking out the VM3000 pack.
Re: Any "must haves" bundle recommendations?
TIPS: Try the demos before buying because you can't resell or give away anything you don't want to keep. Do them one or two at a time so you have time to try each one out before the demo period ends. You might find there's a discrepancy between what a module does and what you think it does based on the description. Or there might be a flaw or a quirk that makes a module a showstopper. Keep in mind different developers have different demo periods.

Yes... this one (though I'm still struggling to understand all the quirks of the Behemoth/MARF):
