FM "BEAST" #1 (driven by Vari Step Seq )

Post by xuoham »

FM "Beast" #1 :
The first of a series of demos of FM "bestially" organic sounding presets that i want to make in Voltage Modular combining FM (PSP or Cherry Audio FM station mainly) and gritty filters (PSP, MS20, MRB LPG, Vult Tangents).

FM can sound so organic and present in Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular !

Orchestrated with the excellent Vari-Step Sequencer from Mr Tetsuo Maruyama a.k.a Marltetz.
Also, the Macro CV module from Benard is fantastic for randomizing or globally shifting parameters, in this case, the PSP Efemerizer.

I just added a kind of stupid kick to put this in rhythmic perspective.

Modular noodling ...

Right on! I'd love to see people working with efemerizer, which seems to be overlooked. Looking forward to more vids!

Love Efemerizer, love FM station even more ! :D

Video quality is mediocre, sorry.
I will upload a new one with better visibility.

FM + gritty filters in VM can sound like a BEAST.
I realize the title can mistakenly read "beat" but it's not a pun.
To my ears it really sounds as bestial as analog.

Thank Jack ! :)

Heres is one more take of the same preset, with a better video quality.
This is not a tune, just a quick preset demo jam, tweaking the filters and the FM operators' pitch.
I actually got luckier in the previous one, but this one still has good moments and a better sound.

Remote control is changing the filter envelope's attack and decay, driven by Benards mini sequencer.
If you ever try the preset, make sure that the two Benard mini sequencers are running as much of the sound's interesting
part comes from the vca envelope's attack and decay being modulated.

The Efemerizer is divided in two carriers, each with its own filter.

I join the VM preset, but you will need Remote Control, PSP's bundle with Efemerizer, Benard's mini bundle and Macro CV, Marltetz's VariStep Sequencer.

I have more of those noodling presets, so i will put more on the forum, probably.

I am still amazed at how good VM sounds.
