Swing Rhythm control

Post by Ian Craig »

Hi,

Does anyone know how to create Swing Rhythms in VM ? I'm sure there is an obvious way that I haven't thought of yet (with these 300+ modules)
AMD Ryzen 8 Core 3.0 GHz,
2TB SSD etc, 40GB RAM,
Windows 10 Professional
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (Audio Interface)
Mixcraft 7,8 (& sometimes 9) Pro Studio

You may have a look at the Drift Pack. There should be something there to allow you to play with trigger timing.

Not sure if the Drift Pack modules help in this case, since they are intended to introduce random changes in the sound (unless someone came up with a way to use them that even I didn't think about... :D ). To get a basic swing rhythm, you need to delay specific triggers in a straight clock signal. In the simplest case (delay every other trigger), you could do something like this, for example. Set the amount of swing with the delay time. (EDIT: At least the Drum Trigger Sequencer also has a built-in Swing knob.)

Thanks Captain, I'll give it a try. ...

@ Captain

I could not find the "Drum Trigger Sequencer". Which one did you mean?

Thank you - I wonder why I could not find that before. Probably an unnoticed typo in my search.

Ok good! :) Inspired by this thread, I coded a module last night that adds adjustable swing to any sync signal. Already submitted it for approval, and if everything goes smoothly, it should be available soon in the store. Did I mention the price? Exactly zero dollars (the same in euros).
