Just to be clear: Cherry Audio perfectly copied how the original hardware sounds and this is what a lot of people in fact want! But being able to turn off the "white noise" in the background would be a plus, an additional feature. I assume it is not simple white noise, but rather it is based on some complex algorithm that comes with the tape echo effect.

Re: Noise Reduction for tape hiss.
Was just about to buy Stardust and came here for a little user feedback. I'm astounded to read that apparently the tape hiss effect is still there and cannot be turned off. If this is true, then I'll go somewhere else for a Space Echo plugin.

I mean, sure. But the noise is very loud, and if you rack up a number of instances it becomes extremely annoying. It's 2024, noise should not be mandatorymiketemplar wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 7:39 pm Just to be clear: Cherry Audio perfectly copied how the original hardware sounds and this is what a lot of people in fact want! Re: Noise Reduction for tape hiss.
Just want to add my support to the idea of Cherry updating Stardust sometime soon with an option to take out the 'tape hiss' in the Echo section. I only recently added Stardust to my plugins, and I love what it can do - absolutely joyous for dub explorations - and clearly superior to Logic's stock Tape Delay plugin for the sonics I'm after, but the tape hiss, whilst authentic to the original Roland, is a bit of a drag to be honest. I adore having this lush SpaceEcho vibe available amongst my FX sends, but it is a pain up the bum having to use additional automation of volume and / or the motor off switch to silence that hiss when there's supposed to be a section of silence in the mix.
Go on Cherry, make us all happy dub bunnies in 2025 and let us have an option to suppress the hiss if we'd like to!
Cheers
