I am sure the answer to this is staring me in the face but I can't figure it out.
I have an instance of P-10 VST in Live 12 (Mac) on a single track. Is there any way to play both manuals (in Normal mode, i.e. two separate Prophet 5s, one per manual) from two different MIDI controllers?
Note that Live can either play MIDI from one single controller at once, or All MIDI sources (which would be cacophony as I've got sequencers and other instruments running)
Is the only way to do this run standalone?
Both manuals at once, different MIDI controllers?
Re: Both manuals at once, different MIDI controllers?
Well it was staring me in the face - the MIDI Channel selector on the LHS.
Standalone it works as expected. I can set the controllers I want to use to numbers nothing else is using, say 8 and 9, and playing those while setting the P-10 to use the same channels for the upper and lower manuals, works.
In Live, even though P10 is set to take from All Ins, and is seeing MIDI coming in on both 8 and 9 (proven with the MIDI From controls which light up the dropdown entry for the channel being received) you get no sound. I've come across this before where Live is doing some internal remapping of all MIDI to Ch 1 inside a track. If you set P-10 VST to 1 then it plays. But it looks as though there's no way to play P-10 independently in Live.
