Ann: Squinewave shapeshifting oscillator module

Post by squarewave »

(3 weeks late announcement!)
Squinewave is a shapeshifting sine-square-saw-pulse oscillator for LFO as well as complex FM setups.

The waveshape is controlled by 2 CV / knobs: Clip (squareness) and Skew (left-right symmetry).

Output is always bandlimited, even under high FM.
Square and pulse waves will "degrade" to sine at higher frequencies, so aliasing is near-impossible.

The waveform is similar to a graphic pen drawing a steady line with rounded corners, rather than filtering or modelling analog circuitry.
This means no ripples or micro-wiggles, so it is a very clean LFO control signal.

Demo is 14 days, so check it out.

In my very unbiased and humble opinion, this should replace approximately every basic oscillator in every softsynth ever.
(only, it wasn't possible to do what we do in VM today, when humans invented softsynths, probably around 1985 or so, in Deep Time)
Today, nobody has to throw a switch to go from sinewave to square or saw.
