Pitch to CV module?

Post by JackJackdaw »

Anyone know of a module that will detect pitch from incoming audio and convert it to CV?

Detecting pitch is not a trivial problem... but you may try the ESP 20 Processor, in most cases does quite good job. It also captures the envelope - I've tried this to control VM with my saxophone, it was fun :)

Cool, thanks. Accuracy isn't really that important. I'm pretty atonal! I have my guitar running through VM with an envelope follower and cross modulating an oscillator with the Function module which is working great, would be ace if I could get an extra level of modulation from the pitch frequency.

For guitar consider guitar to MIDI software such as Jam Origins "MIDI Guitar 2."

Thanks, I’m not interested in getting midi from the guitar though , just audio rate modulation sources for twisting up oscillators with. The ms20 style thing is great.
