FR: Tooltips for jacks, switches etc

If I hover over a knob on any module, a tool-tip pops up with its name and value.

Can the same be done for the other graphic elements: jack sockets, switches, radio buttons etc?
On some modules the labels for these are small / abbreviated or absent so it is not always clear what they are.

Would anyone-else find this useful?

I found most of those items to be self-explanatory, though I wouldn't see any harm in it. :) Can you give an example of a module that isn't intuitive?

Some of the PSP modules use a very small font size.

And, on PSP PolyADSR several knobs are small and unlabelled. Also, I cannot work out what the MIDI sockets are for. I've not seen that type of socket elsewhere in VM.

Not shooting down your idea, but this interface seems intuitive to me. It might help to increase the size of the entire GUI, so the text isn't so small.

No problem.

If I increase the zoom level then I can only see one full row on my monitors (1680 x 1050) unless I do a lot of scrolling- that's why I suggested the additional pop-ups. :) That way the GUI does not become cluttered but the info is available when it is needed.

Anyway, looking at the screenshot: The text characters are close together - have a look at "Shape" and "Sustain". Also, in the Input section there is a small knob labelled "Gain" which pops up a different name, a jack socket, a 5-pin socket, a second small knob which pops up another different name and a bigger knob which pops up "Gain".

Part of my problem is that I do not fully understand how the module is to be used.

Finally, can you shed any light on those MIDI sockets? If I try to drag the MIDI From host onto any of them, they get greyed out.
Edit: Ah ha - they are not MIDI, they are Polyphonic jack sockets. that's that question solved :)

Yes, better labeling & even more importantly documentation or videos. The designers may have years of experience with this stuff or with coding so they understand the functional usage of all the parts, but a lot of it is an appallingly slow process to learn without specific use examples, preferably in videos for as many use cases as can be imagined.
