Is there a way to triggger a source on release of a key?

You could use a Threshold module to send a +5 signal when the Gate Output signal is low. Just hook the Gate Output from the IO Panel to the Input of a Threshold module, and the Gate Out on the red side will be high when no keys are pressed. When you release a key, the gate will go high, and you can use it to trigger things.
It would be pretty easy for someone to write a module that converts MIDI Note Off messages into a trigger, as well.

In case if you only need this on cetrain notes you could use the Midigator6, Alternatively I could add a very skinny module which does this on any note but I would have to stick to the minimal price policy... Thats for MIDI obviusly since there is a Gate to Trigger module available already..

I'll start by exploring the fun way and if that ever gets boring, I'll try the easy way.
This modular approach is a lot of stuff to learn, but it become more fun by the minute.
