Change bitrate of recordings in VM standalone?

if I record through VM internal option, the bitrate (and size) of files is double that of when I record with Monkey Bussiness' s Recorder in 16bit depth WAV...

anyone know if there is an option to set that?

i*d prefer my recordings to not eat so much space... 1 GIG for 50 min..

well, IMO all the recorders are flawed..

VM internal does not let you choose 32/16
MBA does not auto append (which makes for overwrites if you*re not careful)
Sonobiosis does not let you choose directory.

of which option 3 would be the least cumbersome for me...
