Suggestion for New Modules/Groups of Modules - Buchla and Roland System 700

Post by AndyMac »

To widen the palette (and breadth of types of vintage synth sounds) available from Voltage Modular, I would personally really like for there to be a set of modules available in Voltage Modular covering:

1. Buchla modules https://buchla.com/modules especially things like the Twisted Waveform Generator, Complex Waveform Generator, Source of Uncertainty, Function Generators, Morphing Filters, etc.

2. Roland System 700 http://www.vintagesynth.com/roland/sys700.php modules, especially the 702E VCO, 703C VCF and maybe 704C VCA although some of the other modules and way they are packaged might also be good options for modules. I found the user manual/schematics here https://www.synthxl.com/roland-system-700. Alternatively, the equivalent Roland System 500 modules may be a good option, as there are sonically similar.

+1 !

Enough with redundant modules, i am hungry for amazement and surprise ! :D
Less "synth", more "modular" (i know, it doesn't make much sense)

I definitely prefer VM's sound but i admire the VCV Rack community and all its bold modules. VCV is classy !
Thankfully we have a few inventive developers here, though it's hard to notice in the store,
with all those tacky and "redundant" modules.

I would own CA, i would make it a priority to reduce the gap with VCV in terms of popularity and pioneer spirit.
I this regard i highly appreciate Vult and the other interesting developers.

I had sooo much fun with Trevor's excellent Buchla emu Cloudlab 200t for Reaktor. If you are in for some modular sexytime and you own Reaktor, do yourself a favor and learn it, it is very rewarding. Hell , I would even go as far as saying this thing alone is worth the investment in Reaktor.

I wish VM devs will take inspiration from this thing. I said it before, but I also wish Michael Hetrick's excellent Euro Reakt moudles would come to this platform. Right now we have a very small fragment of them but there is so much more.

Arp 2500 modules like the ones Behringer is releasing now would be very welcome too.

IMO, VM has the BEST workflow, compared to Reaktor and Softube modular (where Reaktor's workflow is meh and Softube's is horrible) and VCV was quite unstable in my hands and still lacks the VST ...

Fresh air please!
