Hi,

303 Alliance, Canadian Thunder, and the others you mentioned have Echo turned on. If you don't want the echo, you can turn that off.

When you make your own presets, they are stored here (for Macs):

~/Library/Application Support/CherryAudio/Mercury-4/Presets/User Presets/

So, let's say you made a preset with the category Bass, it would be saved here:

~/Library/Application Support/CherryAudio/Mercury-4/Presets/User Presets/Bass/

Each category you add would create its own folder under Use Presets.

To back them up, just copy the contents of that User Presets folder to your backup location.

I figured this out. The ones with echo on that I don't want on, I have turned off. I think I'm going to rename my favorites so they can be unique from the original presets and put them in another folder. In the meantime, I am still going through the arpeggiated presets (I'm about halfway through) and turning them off then saving them again.

Also in my endeavors, I have noticed these along the way. I don't know if you know about these yet:

Analog Kick 1 has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Analog Kick 2 has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed

Distant Shore has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Drop The 808 has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Electro Click has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Empty Drum has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Fat Zap has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Laser Flight has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Machine Crash 1 has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Machine Crash 2 has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Machine Hat 1 has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Machine Hat 2 has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Micro Hat 1 2 has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed
Micro Hat 2 2 has only one tone across the keyboard regardless of what key is pressed

I don't know if it was intended to have a single tone across the keyboard or not.

Also, are there any future plans for preset expansion packs for Mercury-4?

Hi,

Many percussion sounds are just one note. If you play a kick drum, for example, it always makes the same sound, and that's what's being emulated.

It's possible we might make more presets, but nothing is scheduled right now. There's also a third party - Xenos Soundworks, which produces presets for our synths sometimes, for example: https://xenossoundworks.com/memorymode.html. I don't know if they are planning presets for Mercury-4.

Octave and rhythmic Stabdefinitely retriggers even though arpeggiator is off.

Hi,

In the case of the Octave preset, turn down Mod in the VCO.

For the Rhythmic Stab preset, turn down Mod in the VCF.

In the former, what you're hearing is the LFO controlling the oscillator, and in the latter, it's an LFO controlling the filter.

What are you doing? Going through all the presets and saving versions of them with no repeating notes?

Yes. There are only a few Arpeggiator based patches that I like.

Hi, my advice would not loose live time focussing on presets and ending up with similar soups thounsands of musicians on the world came up with already. Treating this maching like a gambing slot machine.. Heloo? I make big Gong and shout out: This synth is so fantastic, please take your time having a look into the documentation! You should start def by zero in my opinion. It is such a fun to take time and work out the evolving process bringing it into your own mix with all automations... Why? because it is a joy to work with it. "Presets sounds bad... LOL OMG"...
