Aliasing

Post by gentleclockdivider »

here's another one
Enable only osc 3 , set to saw ---> into mixer
Modulate pitch/fm of this osc by osc 2 set to square , and also sync 3 to osc 2
INcrease osc3 1-2 octaves , and play some higher register....aliases like hell
I have 10 old vst that behaves better when doing audio rate and sync duties
Just horrible

I don't see the point in bashing The CA2600. It sold for 1/6th of the price of competitors. If you don't think it's up to your standards, go for the Arturia or Sonivox, or for the new Korg hardware. And concerning aliasing: when playing my Roland JD-990 with a wind controller, there's also terrible aliasing in the high register, although this machine is specified by Don Solaris as the best digital audio engine Roland ever made. So surprises are everywhere.
I must say thay I have had a wonderful time with the CA2600 discovering the ARP2600 system further and using this affordable version with my music production students. Keep up the good work CA. (no I'm not affiliated to the company or receiving commission...).
