Ouch. Is this at 44.1 (which SHOULD sound fine, despite what some folks say)? Does it sound OK at 48?

Sounds equally as horrible at 48Khz .
It's beyond acceptable
I guess some folks just don't have a good set of ears , or think it's supposed to sound this way

Truthfully, and not as a criticism, many people just think synths make weird sounds and don’t realize (and sometimes don’t care) that these are not analog synth sounds. I wonder what serious reviewers are going to say about these issues? The initial reviews/articles sure sound like puff pieces now.

Not sure. I passed your comments along to them. I suspect that your definition of "horrible aliasing" and theirs might differ.
But as you might already know, we're always looking to improve our software, as evidenced to our response to your earlier comments on a couple of other issues.
