Re: Any future plans for VM
It's fine. No offense taken. I understood what ColinP meant when he invoked Dave Smith. I did forget about the MIDI connector because I almost never use it and have never written a module that does. We're all pretty wrecked over Dave's passing and his contribution to the synth world can never be ove...

Re: Any future plans for VM
3 different types? I'm aware of mono and poly. Is there something I'm missing? Hey, I would love standardized colors as much as anyone here, and the method you propose "setRecommendedColor()" seems to me the only solution. I'd modify that to "setSignalType()" to divorce it from a...

Re: Any future plans for VM
Just wanted to chime in regarding the ideas for standardized cable coloring like on the Nord Modular. I've got a couple of Nord Modulars and the reason they can have a cable color scheme is that they differentiate between signals. There's audio, control, gates, and I forget if there's anything else....

Re: Note played won't stop
Tiny correction to a comment. The GAIN knob is not depth. The CV AMOUNT knob is depth. The GAIN knob value is summed with the input control voltage (multiplied by the CV AMOUNT setting). On Moog modular VCAs, this knob is called INITIAL CONTROL VOLTAGE. To make things abundantly clear, here's a one ...

Re: General Impressions, a couple of questions
On an original Mini, the up glide is 60% faster than the down glide. The crazy thing is, it appears to be almost intentional. One resistor value change in the glide circuit would even it up. Dunno why they didn't do it, but that's the way it is, so that's the way Minimode is. Same with the envelope ...

Re: 'Cumulative' envelope response missing?
Please be assured that this phenomenon was meticulously modeled, but something probably got mangled late in the process. Thanks for finding this bug which will be squashed very shortly.

Re: DC Offset
Just a quick note. VM doesn't have a "safe zone" within a patch and will quite happily process trillion volt signals (without arcing). The only place that matters in this regard is the output signal back into the world, and if you exceed 5v there, just turn it down.

Re: Please, make a moog model 55 vst
Please explain this to me. Why would you want such a thing? First of all, Voltage Modular IS a VST plugin that can also run standalone and it's free. You buy VM900 for a ridiculously low price and there ya go. Model 15, 35, 55, I, II, III and anything else you might want. You can also patch any othe...

Re: Sequencer voltages and notes
It's really not a problem. Just do it like this: Make yourself a simple patch with vco, env, vca (I just use my Tiny Voice module) and mix it into the output so you can hear it along with what you're programming. Play the note you want and turn the sequencer knob to match. Rinse, repeat. No math, no c...

Aside to Mark: I'm guessing you like Forbidden Planet a lot, given that you also use Robbie's side of the dress discussion in one of the presets in MRB Laboratory Presets 2 . The snaps were tasty. Yep, always been a fave. Aside from it being a great sci-fi movie, the electronic soundtrack put the h...
