Re: VMD improvements wishlist - Polls

On this thread, imagine a future where VMD is a plugin for Netbeans and Eclipse. That would sure help and encourage people. Does not matter what the language is at the moment the editor has to be improved urgently. It's just a student programming exercise, or something. It is rapidly driving me nuts...

Re: VMD improvements wishlist - Polls

I have always been puzzled by this statement that is pervasive and seemingly unquestioned that 'C++ is hard for beginners'. I am probably the exact wrong person to comment as I have been programming all my life and remember the very first day of C++, so my perspective may be skewed by long experienc...

Re: Fonts for dynamic use

In VCV Rack, you can use any system font regardless of deployment platform as you convert text in SVG to paths, and everything is good. Perhaps CA could take a leaf out of their book? After all, you can use SVG images for components in the Skin Editor, so it is not beyond the bounds of possibility.

Re: ADSR graphical nitpick

Hey CA, fix updated for me this morning. Great work! Thank you.

I was not questioning the 2ms minimum. As you say 0ms is just not on. Agreed. There was no issue with that, just as speculation as to why the slider was out.

Skin editor

I want to make some multicolour LED's of my own. How can I open the built-in skins to make small modifications? Just cant find any of the supplied skins. I even reinstalled VM designer.

Re: VMD improvements wishlist - Polls

Language is heavily constrained by audio performance not programmer preferences. That really leaves the current well optimized Java or C++ (as per VCV Rack) in my view. I loathe facebook in all its aspects so I am commenting here. C++ would instantly give access to the vast resources of DSP code ava...

Re: Perlin Noise - worth it?

It's just new. I am trying it out. Note that Perlin noise is not just another colour of noise like white, pink, blue, grey, etc. It is a different type of randomly varying source.

Perlin Noise

Hello Hype Audio, looking today to learning Perlin Noise. I have no friends because I point out their spelling mistakes. It's persistence not 'persistance'. As another comment, the knob labels have the number jammed up tight. Look at something like CA Stereo Mixer. The number of the knob has a space...
