Yes. If there is a choice when fixed, I prefer the red. I find it easier to see.

I don't quite understand where the signal you are measuring comes from. Can you explain? You said you connected the input to the output. What is driving this?

Well that's a controversial can of worms if ever. That's skeuomorphism. VM is already highly skeuomorphic. There are arguments against it. If you consider VCV Rack, the design centre is mostly flat non-skeuomorphic panels. Most designers seem to prefer that nowadays. For a bit of a chat about this: ...
