Re: Moarus is now available

Thanks! With a name like Moarus, there was only one way to play this. ;)

Tunnage is now available

My second module for 2024 is now available - Tunnage. It uses .tun files to translate between "standard" 1v/oct CV and a tuning you define. If you're into alternate tunings, give it a try. As is customary, there is an intro sale of $5 for at least the next week and a 14 day demo period.

Re: Pan Law

Agreed. I just checked my DAW and it behaves that way as well. They even label the toggle 'Mute / solo' (though its really a mute toggle and solo functionality is a menu option).

Re: Pan Law

This discussion is why I put options in Full Thickness Tear - the one knob for two thing, sine law, and linear. Opinions are all over the place on this topic. As an example, quickly scan through https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=426306 , and you'll see the opinions: why aren't there alw...

Re: Pan Law

That's the default behavior of the Mix knob on Full Thickness Tear. I've also seen it in various VSTs. For mixing wet/dry in some effects, I think its a good compromise when you don't want individual wet/dry knobs. For general crossfading, and especially for panning, it seems an interesting choice t...

Re: Pan Law

For panning, I personally don't think it matters too much. Mixing wet/dry seems more contentious. I did some research for Full Thickness Tear in the plugin world and found that functionality, and opinions of that functionality, varied from plugin to plugin. Linear, sine law (and its cousins), the tw...

Color Chooser?

I'd like to allow users to customize certain colors on an upcoming module. I tried using JColorChooser but I get a HeadlessException so using Swing directly seems like a dead end. The VM API has file and message dialogs, but I couldn't find either a color chooser or a way to open a custom dialog. I ...

Re: Full Thickness Tear is now available

It's pronounced /ˈkēnˌwä/. jk  I pronounce it /ter/ as in rip. The sound of through-zero flanging when the signals approach, cancel, and then reform feels to me sort of like the sound is tearing. When I was developing it, my wife had knee surgery for a full thickness tear on her meniscus. And h...
