Re: How to assign patches to layers and splits?
Just wanted to say that takyano's answer re. Utils helped me out with 'merging' layers into a new preset, so it's a useful suggestion nonetheless. I think it also applies to other Cherry layer-capable instruments, like Elka-X.

Re: Easy way to transpose MIDI input
MIDI-OX can this. Plenty of guides online but basically your real MIDI goes into MIDI-OX, gets transposed using a note map, then is sent out to wherever.
MIDI-Yoke or loopMIDI might be needed for the output, depending on your set-up.

Re: Mercury 4 and Cubase 11
Just gave this a quick try in Cubase 12 Elements, and no crash.
Cubase is at 12.0.52 on my machine.

Re: Would happily buy CA2600, but...
Without going online, how do you obtain any software at all? How do you email, or post on here? How did you initially set up your workstations? Maybe Cherry can provide an install file, or files, to patch with? Either way the origin of the files would be online (unless you live near their HQ, I gues...

Re: CA2600 clicking sound
I'm trying to sneak-purchaseGX80 without the domestic finance committee noticing. GX-80 is awesome! Maybe take the "It's easier easier ask for forgiveness than ask for permission" approach? :D I think I've used all my free passes in that respect! But! Christmas list to the rescue! Cheers ...

Re: Cannot install on second machine
Gosh! Glad I read this - I have Dreamsynth on 3 machines at the moment. Was just for testing purposes so I'll go and delete the not-needed machine.

Re: CA2600 clicking sound
I genuinely wish I'd never raised it now. It does seem that it's a) intentional and b) not a big deal in the scheme of things if it isn't. I still love the CA2600 and it has now been joined by Elka-X, Dreamsynth, Memorymode, DCO106, Sines and the Surrealistic free one. And I'm trying to sneak-purcha...

Re: Inspired this synth
Totally agree with the OP. I have to admit to trying to re-create some Jean-Michel Jarre stuff - hence the CA2600. I was reading the sleeve of the Equinoxe record and started looking for an Elka Synthex VST - and found the Elka-x. However, I simply wasn't expecting how great the Elka-x sounds. Compl...
